Key Airfields Play Crucial Role in Pacific Airshow Gold Coast
Collaboration among several key airfields will once again bring together a spectacular array of aerial performances at the upcoming Pacific Airshow Gold Coast.
Gold Coast Airport and Southport Airfield are the primary partners, with significant contributions also coming from RAAF Base Amberley and Brisbane Airport.
These airfields are instrumental in ensuring the success of Pacific Airshow, providing essential support and infrastructure for the participating aircraft and crews.
Gold Coast Airport, under the leadership of Queensland Airports Limited CEO Amelia Evans, plays a vital role in the airshow’s logistics.
“Building on the success of last year’s event, we’re thrilled to be a major partner of Pacific Airshow Gold Coast for a second year,” said Ms Evans.
“This event is a fantastic way to engage with the community and shine a light on the industry as a whole – hopefully encouraging the next generation to take on a career in aviation,” she said.
“This year, our Gold Coast Airport team who are passionate about all things aviation will be providing essential ground services, coordination support and hosting several key aircraft and teams like the RAAF Roulettes.”
Southport Airfield in Coombabah, home to the Southport Flying Club, is another critical partner.
Craig Hobart, President of the Southport Flying Club, said Pacific Airshow presented “a tremendous opportunity for our city to shine”.
“We supported the inaugural event last year with 23 aircraft from our club and are pleased to commit to a long-term relationship.
“This four-year partnership highlights our commitment to the aviation community and our dedication to supporting major events on the Gold Coast.”
RAAF Base Amberley, where many of the military assets involved in the airshow will be based, is playing a crucial role in the event.
The base is providing various military aircraft and logistics support, reinforcing the strong relationship between the airshow and the Australian Defence Force (ADF).
At the airshow, there will be interesting military ground displays from the ADF, including simulators and Defence Force Recruiting personnel eager to highlight the wide variety of jobs available.
Brisbane Airport will host several international aircraft, offering the necessary facilities and support for these participants. This strategic location allows for seamless integration of international acts into the airshow’s program, enhancing the event's global appeal.
The collaborative effort between these airfields and Pacific Airshow ensures a smooth operation, allowing spectators to enjoy an awesome, well-coordinated event filled with non-stop action!
