Pacific Airshow Expands to Australia

(HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA) April 27, 2022 – Marking another first for the world’s biggest airshow, Pacific Airshow is expanding to Australia’s Gold Coast. Pacific Airshow Gold Coast will debut in August 2023 showcasing high-flying action to hundreds of thousands of locals and visitors over to the pristine beaches of Australia’s popular vacation destination.

“There has never been an air event of this scale staged anywhere in Australia. That’s why the Gold Coast is famous for fun – in the air and on the ground,’’ said Gold Coast Mayor Tom Tate. “This event underscores our commitment to attracting the very best in global entertainment for our residents, visitors and businesses.”

“Pacific Airshow has brought to Southern California a new paradigm in family-friendly entertainment – high flying action, great food, live music and more – all intended to create memories with family and friends, and now we aim to bring those same thrills and positive experiences to Australia’s Gold Coast,” said Kevin Elliott, Airshow Director and CEO of Huntington Beach, Calif.-based Code Four.

Pacific Airshow Gold Coast is being organized by Code Four, the marketing and events company behind the hugely popular Pacific Airshow Huntington Beach, in conjunction with the City of Gold Coast and Major Events Gold Coast as well the State of Queensland and Tourism and Events Queensland.

Australia’s Matt Hall, reigning Red Bull Air Race world champion and former Royal Australian Air Force combat instructor has signed on as the event’s first celebrity ambassador and will be performing his stunning aerial feats for the crowd next year.

“Pacific Airshow Gold Coast will be an annual event featuring the finest aerobatic teams and performers from around the globe as well as inspiring educational STEM activities, music, entertainment and much more,” added Elliott. “We believe Pacific Airshow will serve as a venue to bring allied nations together and reinforce key partnerships from around the globe. Now book ending the Pacific Ocean, Pacific Airshow is uniquely positioned to showcase alliances, technology and more in a way nobody thought possible.”

The 2022 Pacific Airshow Huntington Beach will take place Sept. 30 – Oct. 2 and will be headlined by the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds and Royal Canadian Forces Snowbirds. The event will also host Australian military performers and Matt Hall will perform for his first appearance at the Airshow.

Pacific Airshow, which launched six years ago at Huntington Beach in Southern California, has featured an outstanding aviation line-up year after year, including performances by the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds, U.S. Navy Blue Angels, Royal Air Force Red Arrows, Canadian Forces Snowbirds, as well as many of the world’s finest civilian aerobatic performers. The 2021 show attracted more than three million attendees.

The event has developed a remarkable following having been the only airshow in North America to host three jet teams from three different countries in a single edition and the only Airshow in history to win the U.S. Air Force Civilian Show Site of the Year two years in a row.

Pacific Airshow Huntington Beach has become the cornerstone of the fall calendar for Southern California residents and visitors from as far away as Europe, Asia the UAE and beyond while delivering a more than $105 million economic impact to the City of Huntington Beach and even broader economic benefits to the Counties of Orange, Los Angeles, and Southern California.
